Some Example Pitches

  • The ‘Real’ World
Fiction is bleeding into reality (tv). 2023 brought us the final season of How To with John Wilson as well as the first seasons of The Rehearsal and Jury Dutythese shows played with their audience’s expectations, truth, and the ethics of performance. How did Joe Millionaire and Average Joe anticipate this move in the early 2000, and after nearly 2 decades, why have we returned to “fictional” reality tv?
  • The Below Deck Power Ranking
Let’s rank the best and worst captains and chief stews. Who is a good manager? How has the leadership influenced the way you manage your own team at work? Who probably deserves to be fired? What does the shows popularity tell us about our relationship to class and labor?
  • Real(ity) Estate: The Houses of the Housewives
What do the McMansions of the Housewives tell us about both their respective series and America’s residential architecture crisis?
